Greater New Orleans Funders Network
Converge lead the design and development of the Greater New Orleans Funders Network (GNOFN), a collaborative of over 50 local and national philanthropic organizations investing in Southeast Louisiana. GNOFN convenes, educates and organizes philanthropy to mobilize public policy, public investments and philanthropic leadership and investments to move the needle on equity and justice in the region. Converge founding principal, Takema Robinson, serves as the Director of the Network and Converge provides administrative and leadership support for five co-investment Action Tables focused on coastal communities, criminal justice, equitable development, opportunity youth/boys and men of color, and youth and education.
New Orleans Youth Program Quality Initiative
Converge worked with Baptist Community Ministries and a team of local leaders to develop the New Orleans Youth Program Quality Initiative, which has engaged more than 400 youth workers across more than 80 organizations in New Orleans in assessment, training, coaching and improvement planning to improve the quality of youth development programs in the city.
New Orleans Children and Youth Planning Board
Converge served as the first staff of the New Orleans Children and Youth Planning Board, assisting this state-created coordinated policy and planning body in moving from a monthly information sharing meeting to a strategic and resourced group of leaders that improves the quality of lives of children, youth and families in New Orleans. New Orleans Workforce Development Board
Converge has served as the Board Manager since 2014 facilitating the transformation of the New Orleans Workforce Investment Board into the New Orleans Workforce Development Board under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and helping the new Board create and begin implementation of an ambitious strategic plan for the city’s workforce system.
