Converge launches Converge Cares Initiative

On May 2nd, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) successfully raised $5.5 million dollars for 765 local nonprofits through their biggest annual event, GiveNOLA Day! This event rallies tens of thousands of donors to give to New Orleans area organizations that are making an impact in the community. We are so excited about their leadership and what they will accomplish in the years to come.

At Converge, we work closely with organizations that are professional givers. These givers work tirelessly for their causes, which means they sometimes put self-care on the back burner. We recently we published a blog about the “Whole Life Challenge” and how it has shaped the idea of taking care of ourselves and our staff at Converge. With that in mind, the Greater New Orleans Foundation needed some self-care after GiveNOLA Day and we couldn’t help but to treat them to a in-office spa day

The Converge staff works closely with the Greater New Orleans Foundation as a partner; we couldn’t allow them to push full steam ahead without a “breather,” so Converge borrowed  one of the GNOF conference rooms for a couple of hours and spoiled their team with spa music, fresh fruits, and sangria, and mini massages from our friends at NOLA Therapy Room.

Social justice work is tough. Our staff believes that sometimes we have to step up and give more to the givers that tirelessly support their communities.
