Position Title: Chief of Staff

FULL TIME POSITION (40 hours per week)

Position Overview: The Chief of Staff (COS) supports the Principal in securing new client partners and leads the development of Converge proposals and other client engagement strategies. The Chief of Staff provides oversight of all Converge staff and acts as the bridge between Converge and the Elysian Operations Manager. The COS will provide support to Converge Senior Consultants on major deliverables. The COS will also check-in with client partners to ensure their satisfaction with the engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze client challenges and opportunities
  • Manage client projects to ensure fidelity to Converge Way and project budget considerations with final deliverables, including managing client onboarding, project design/work-planning, implementation, final deliverable preparation and presentation and client offboarding
  • Train staff in the Converge Way and add to the development of the Converge Way
  • Contribute to Converge business development by supporting client prospecting and proposal preparation
  • Design and facilitate client and team meetings
  • Support the advancement of Converge’s brand by building relationships with clients and allied partners and representing Converge at various meetings and conferences
  • Lead teams of internal staff and outside consultants by providing executive-level direction, exhibiting both clarity and the willingness to make the tough decisions and have the difficult conversations.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives
  • Design and facilitate working meetings, retreats, and working sessions with clients, internal teams and organizational partners.
  • Advance the intellectual and reputational capital of the firm
  • Support the development and growth of team members, including connecting them to the bigger picture of client engagements.
  • Cultivate and maintain a wide network of relationships in client, partner and community organizations

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years nonprofit industry experience (post-college) including at least 3 years minimum in a consulting capacity (e.g., working for a consulting firm or running a solo practice).
  • Masters Degree required
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mastery of organizational and financial management fundamentals crucial to social sector impact and success.
  • Presentation and facilitation experience.
  • Qualitative or quantitative research experience.
  • Interest in learning the firm’s methodologies, tools, and processes and the ability to consistently apply these in client work.
  • Mission-driven passion for work in Black communities, other communities of color, and other historically marginalized groups.
  • Deep personal and professional understanding of intersectionality and equity and how these play out with clients and communities.

Position Title: Director of Operations

FULL TIME POSITION (40 hours per week)

Position Overview: The employee shall be employed as the Director of Operations and shall report to a CEO. Subject to modification by the CEO, the Director of Operations immediate areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to, the job description below. The Director of Operations will support the operation of Elysian Enterprises and its subsidiary companies, such as Converge Consulting and Reign Hosting Services. The Director of Operations leads, manages and is accountable for all areas of company operations to include financial, human resources, legal, information technology, and office operations functions. Responsibilities:

  • Office Operations & Information Technology
    • Manage and analyze workflow to help implement and create appropriate infrastructure, as needed; • Manage external contractors to ensure smooth office operations, including Information Technology (IT) and filing systems (vendors, projects, personnel, financial, operational), office and equipment maintenance and repair, management and regular restocking of office and project supplies; • Purchasing office supplies and equipment and maintaining proper stock levels;
    • Administer insurances, contracts and other similar administrative needs;
    • Manage relationships with all outside vendors and services related to company operations;
  • Human Resources
    • Manage relationship with Elysian’s human resource management provider;
    • Ensure that Elysian’s human resource systems are established and implemented to administer regular human resources functions related to recruitment and hiring, on-boarding, training and off-boarding staff and contractors, and improving practices and policies for effectively managing, supervising and developing staff; 
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the company’s financial administration function, including oversight of external accountant and bookkeeper;
    • Oversee and facilitate the production of financial data by the bookkeeper & CPA;
  • Legal Administration
    • Ensure all Elysian and subsidiary companies contracts, employment agreements, intellectual property protections, and insurances are reviewed periodically, and updated as needed by the legal team for compliance and legal protection of Elysian and subsidiary companies;
    • Manage the Elysian relationship with legal counsel;

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar capacity, establishing and managing effective systems for the operational, administrative, human resource and financial management and overall success of a small business;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment; • Ability to work within deadlines;
  • Self-motivated and enjoys being part of a team;
  • Significant project management in a similar role;
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Google Suite and Google Drive; • Working knowledge of QuickBooks.

Position Title: Engagement Manager

Position Overview:  The Engagement Manager (EM) is an integral member of our consulting team leading Senior Consultants, Associate Consultants, and Project Coordinators. The EM leads the day to day execution of client projects while developing individual team members. Converge client engagements span from 3-24 months in duration. Our projects are focused in the following areas: criminal justice, education, workforce development, health equity, etc. The EM accepts full responsibility for Converge’s service delivery and provides advice, and oversight. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the problem solving process and the day-to-day management of project teams including oversight of the team’s analysis and deliverables.
  • Diagnose and frame client challenges and opportunities in a broad range of content areas (e.g. criminal justice, education, workforce development, health equity).
  • Coach and Mentor junior staff, rapidly developing their skills and knowledge through the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, drawing upon the Converge Methodology and Converge Way documentation.
  • Act as a sounding board and advisor on all phases of client work (including design, project management and implementation, preparing final deliverables, and presenting findings).
  • Design and facilitate working meetings, retreats, and working sessions with clients, internal teams and organizational partners.
  • Build and maintain client relationships; support efforts to develop new business by contributing to proposal development and writing.
  • Advance and train staff on the firm’s approaches, methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Advance the intellectual and reputational capital of the firm (e.g., developing tools, resources, and communications.
  • Cultivate and maintain a wide network of relationships in client, partner and community organizations.
  • Support Converge growth through contributions to talent initiatives, and thought leadership development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years experience in the nonprofit industry (post-college on strategic and/or operational initiatives, including at least 3 years minimum in a consulting capacity (e.g., working for a consulting firm or running a solo practice) and 2 years managing others.
  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple clients and projects

Position Title: Converge College Dean

Position Overview: The Converge College Dean will ensure that Converge College is operationalizing its strategic growth plan by developing and implementing systems, structures, and practices that position the organization to meet its short and long-term goals. The Converge College Dean will report to the CEO and will engage with and support the Project Management team, Comms & Marketing team, Senior & Associate Consultants, and Elysian Enterprises staff. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with significant experience overseeing the development of course content creation as well as managing the operational development of our course curriculum and tech platform. Critical success factors include a demonstrated ability to support others, lead team members to completion on work projects, strong operational thinking, and the ability to strategically work through any and all problems that pop up along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of Converge College
  • Refine Converge College tech platform
  • Work with Elysian Director of Operations to develop and refine all workflows for students as well as define the student narrative c. Partner with Elysian Comms and Marketing team on sales funnels, marketing strategies and launches throughout the year
  • Recruit, train and manage Converge College staff to ensure quality standards across the team
  • Identify and manage staff for Converge College course facilitation and operational functions

  • Lead the revision and update Converge College curriculum including RISE 101 workshop (monthly course offerings)

Position Title: Associate Consultant

CONTRACT POSITION

Position Overview: The Associate Consultant will work on a contractual basis to lead projects that deliver excellence to the organization’s clients and partners. In this role, the Associate Consultant will chart, execute and implement strategy with an acute focus on building capacity and maximizing impact for client partners in alignment with Converge’s core values of Radical Imagination, Agency and Collective Action. This role participates in the development and management of new projects, including research, development and execution of scope of work. This position requires a balance of tactical prowess combined with strategic acumen. In addition to being an effective project manager, the successful Consultant will possess high research orientation and intellectual curiosity. 

This Associate Consultant requires a depth of experience in nonprofit management, organizational development and strategy with proven expertise within numerous areas of social justice. A non-exhaustive list of areas of expertise includes Philanthropy, Coalition Management, Community Development, Criminal Legal Reform, Women’s Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice, Gender Justice, Youth Development , Education/Arts, Economic Development, Housing, and Workforce Development.

This position will work closely with Converge’s Chief of Staff and will operate with a great deal of autonomy and independence in external engagements.. Critical success factors include a demonstrated ability to influence, capacity to build strong, inclusive relationships, and a commitment to helping drive social justice and equity. Position Overview: The Project Coordinator role at Converge goes above and beyond the typical admin scope. You will become the right hand to multiple consultants and the heart of each project team’s operations. Your day to day will be a mix of administrative support and project support. Beyond that, you will handle impactful projects and become deeply involved in the business. This role largely operates behind the scene. You’re the glue of our consulting teams and the driving force that keeps Converge moving. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a calendar gatekeeper: prioritize, provide recommendations, edit meeting requests, ensure that timing and logistical details are in place.
  • Plan and coordinate external-facing meetings, which may include cross-functional teams and outside vendors.
  • Support team members and projects by filing expense reports, analyzing timesheets, and making purchases.
  • Develop and maintain administrative processes that reduce redundancy and improve accuracy while achieving organizational objectives.
  • Perform research and data analysis for client deliverables.
  • Assist in administering projects, including managing project scope, resources, budget, and timeline.
  • Coordinate among multiple project teams, including details about work schedules and task responsibilities via Monday.com, Slack and email on a continual basis.
  • Assist the team with invoices and resolve any financial issues thereof.
  • Maintain and track consultants and teams project tasks and goals.
  • Help facilitate meetings by structuring agendas, taking notes, and organizing work streams.
  • Assist in document management, compilation, distribution and storage.
  • Communicate with partners, clients, consultants, subcontractors and other external sources on a professional level.
  • Initiate administrative processes for efficiency; draft team playbooks and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years nonprofit industry experience (post-college) including at least 1 years minimum in a consulting capacity (e.g., working for a consulting firm or running a solo practice).
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presentation and facilitation experience.
  • Qualitative or quantitative research experience.

Position Overview: Converge College, Converge’s newest business line, dedicated to training and equipping nonprofit leaders and professionals with racial and intersectional equity tools for their organization launches on February 7, 2022. The Enrollment and Support Specialist will report directly to the Converge College Dean. This position will have a pivotal role in supporting launch activities such as course sales, student enrollment, student experience activities, course inquiries and communication, support group monitoring, technical support to students, and other duties as assigned by the CC Dean.

At Converge, there are a lot of moving parts. The Enrollment and Support Specialist will need to stay on top of each assigned project and task. You will need to present information and respond to questions and inquiries from prospective and current students in a timely and diplomatic manner.

The ideal candidate is someone who LOVES being helpful, who is service-minded and detail-oriented enough to be super organized amidst occasional chaos but flexible enough to enjoy the unpredictable nature of our days. We are seeking someone who juggles diverse responsibilities with grace and humor and possesses the knack to anticipate the needs of the team and effectively resolve admin and operational issues before they arise. Candidates with a history of supporting course enrollment management, learning communities, and developing presentation slide and pitch decks and are social media savvy with strong editing skills are encouraged to apply.

Position Overview: Converge is seeking an experienced Executive Administrative Assistant reporting directly to the Chief of Staff (COS). The Executive Administrative Assistant coordinates outreach, and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. The Executive Administrative Assistant must be organized, creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is mission, and results-driven. The ideal candidate has the ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism interacting with diverse groups including board members, senior executives, staff, community leaders, and partners. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations, and events that often require a quick response or turnaround.

Roles & Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks for the COS including but not limited to: calendaring, composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential
  • Prioritize inquiries, and requests while troubleshooting scheduling conflicts
  • Arrange and handle all logistics for meetings and events including scheduling, drafting agendas, develop, compile, and distribute presentation materials; and record meeting minutes
  • Coordinate all team meetings and assist with staff meetings and virtual events as needed
