The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) is a resource dedicated to helping donors maximize their impact by making more intentional disaster-related giving decisions. In 2019, CDP planned for a virtual training session on issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to help its staff “develop a common language, definition and understanding” and “learn to apply an equity lens to CDP’s communications work” as well as in gaining a historical understanding of “systemic issues that have led to disinvestment in, and disenfranchisement of, many communities.”

Converge provided a customized training curriculum, including refined learning objectives, training materials and activities, resource library, facilitation guide, and a revised DEI framework. We also redefined the organization’s DEI framework and facilitated two half-day virtual training sessions. Our work also included overall project management throughout this process.
