Coalition Management

  • Case Study:
    Greater New Orleans Funders Network

The Foundation for Louisiana (FFL) was launched in 2005 as the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Its initial work was to invest in and support the immediate recovery of Louisiana’s communities following the storms. In recent years, FFL needed facilitation support for Equitable Development and Youth and Education Action Tables of the Greater New Orleans Funders Network (GNOFN). GNOFN also needed facilitation and management of the Action Tables, including support for a few areas: Coastal Communities, Criminal Justice, Equitable Development, Opportunity Youth/Boys & Men of Color and Youth & Education.

Converge provided facilitation and administrative support for all GNOFN Action Tables. We built upon processes in the previous year, and by 2021, our high-level strategic areas included building capacity of GNOFN members to collaborate, catalyzing strategic investment, learning and sharing promising best practices, monitoring progress and evaluation, informing and catalyzing civic decisions, and engaging and seeking input from community stakeholders.
