Dr. Samuel Escalante serves as a Senior Consultant at Converge focusing on racial equity and strategic planning. Currently, Samuel supports the Senior Consulting team on projects for the Greater New Orleans Funders Network, Blue Meridian Partners, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the American Medical Association.

Previously, Samuel taught courses to current and future educators at the University of Texas at San Antonio. During his time in academia, Samuel conducted and published sociological studies on the topic of race and was a frequent guest lecturer and presenter on the topics of access, intersectionality, race, and cultural responsiveness in education. He earned his PhD and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Texas and his Master’s degree from the University of Texas.
