Converge Event Recap: Maximizing GiveNOLA Day with Social Media

Last Wednesday, we hosted our first free Converge Workshop, “Maximizing GiveNOLA Day with Social Media” at our headquarters on Canal Street. The workshop focused on development and social media strategies for New Orleans nonprofits participating in the annual highly mobilized day of giving, GiveNOLA Day happening tomorrow, May 1st. The workshop was led by Converge staff, Gabrielle Deculus (Communications Coordinator) and Suzanne Raether (Director of Fund Development).

Gabrielle and Suzanne shared 7 Ways to Maximize your GiveNOLA Day with Social Media:

  1. Keep your Messaging ‘Donor Centric’
  2. Mobilize Your Board
  3. Engage Your Biggest Supporters
  4. Kick Your Stewardship Up a Notch
  5. Pay for Social Media Ads
  6. Show Your Work
  7. Broadcast Your Updates Live

We had a great time supporting our nonprofit  partners, Junebug Productions and STEM NOLA, and friends from Liberty’s Kitchen, Grow Dat Youth Farm, Operation Spark, Women With A Vision, Big Class/826 New Orleans, Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana, Young Audiences of Louisiana, Project Butterfly, Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative, and Backyard Gardeners Network. We can’t wait to see how they win big on GiveNOLA Day. Click here to find your favorite nonprofits and donate!

GiveNOLA Day is an incredible day that inspires our community to come together and give as one. We are also cheering on our partner, the Greater New Orleans Foundation, as they prepare to host the biggest GiveNOLA Day yet!
